Restoring and Replicating pieces of Architectural Interest
This is a picture of one of eight “wings” or pieces of architectural interest from the clock tower. This wing is being repaired and brought to it’s original shape so it can be replicated using the mold process. Once this piece was completely restored, we created a negative of it by pouring a special material over it. Before we could pour the material over top of the wing, a release agent had to cover the entire wing. This enabled us to pull the new mold off easily. From our new mold that we created, eight brand new wings were created. The new material is impermeable to the elements and will last a lifetime!
